Smart Sights - Local Sights and Movie Tour

Departs: 1.00 pm, returns approx 4.45 pm

An afternoon tour of Wellington City with a local movie industry twist!  Travel up Mt Victoria to the Lookout, enjoy the views and walk amongst the trees of some of the Lord of the Rings scenes.  Find where the local movie production studios may be hiding and get some local input on other movies such as The Hobbit, Avatar, The Lovely Bones, The Dambusters etc.  Finish the trip with a visit to Weta Cave at Weta Workshop and home via the Miramar Peninsula and South Coast. Movie clips on location and audiovisual displays as you travel will make this a trip to remember.

Enjoy two exceptional hidden culinary experiences in a single morning – we take you into the working kitchens of two top kitchens. See, smell, hear and taste the action in two professional kitchens, and share secrets with the chefs.
At Logan Brown, Steve Logan or Chef Shaun Clouston will reveal their compact kitchen amid pre-lunch prep, originally the bank vault. Floriditas Bakery co-owner Julie Clark and Head Baker Mitch share baking expertise, with hands-on options of pastry rolling techniques and ‘flooding’ cakes.

Wairarapa’s Smartest Gardens & Greytown Shopping Tour
Cost:
$115 per person

9.00 am, returns approx 4.00 pm

Head out of Wellington, over the majestic Rimutaka Ranges and into the rural landscapes of the Wairarpa and onto Assisi Gardens.  Enjoy morning tea and a tour of this alpine country garden with native plants, water features and stunning views, where the terrain and climate provide challenges.  Lunch (at own cost) will be at the Gladstone Inn, voted 2006’s Best Country Hotel, where you can choose from their selection of some “really good country food”.  Then we travel onto Te Whanga Gardens, where you can tour the long meandering paths at leisure and get lost in nature’s beauty.
On the way home there will be a stop at the quaint township of Greytown where you will have time to explore the chic cafes, boutiques, galleries and antique shops.  Greytown has retained its delightful colonial village character with many lovingly restored Victorian homes and shops along the main street. 

The Mojo Magic Coffee Experience

Become a barista - ‘Share the magic’ of Mojo!
Learn how to extract the perfect espresso shot, how to steam and texture milk and how to make perfect coffee every time.  Take part in this “hands on” two hour session in the amazing surroundings of Mojo Coffee Cartel’s Roastery, in Historic Shed 13 on Wellington’s Waterfront. Participants will receive a complimentary 75 gm bag of coffee.
