Eileen Piggot-Irvine
So, how does NZ Stack up against the rest of the world for thinking and practice in appraisal?
Eileen Piggot-Irvine is a Professor of Leadership in Victoria BC, Canada and an adjunct at Griffith University, Brisbane. She was formerly Director of the New Zealand Action Research and Review Centre (NZARRC) at Unitec and Director of the New Zealand Principal and Leadership Centre (NZPLC) and senior lecturer at Massey University, Auckland. Prior to 1998 she was the Head of the Education Management Centre, at Unitec, Auckland and Head of Professional Development, Northland Polytechnic, and a leader in secondary schools. Her current research, evaluation and publications are in the fields of appraisal, leadership development, organisational learning, action research, success case methodology, and management review.

Margaret Ross
How to teach for 42 years without killing anyone!
Some options to consider when the voice in your head is saying ‘kill’ (and you are only talking to another staff member!) and you know that this isn’t the best option!
Margaret has a background of over 30 years in Education. She has taught and held management positions in schools in Inner London, Nigeria and New Zealand. She trained in Inner London with Educational Psychologist in the 70's. Her specialties’ lie in relationship building, motivation, behaviour management and their practical application in a school or work environment. Today she runs courses (NZ, UK and Norway) for teachers, parents, health professionals and corporate organisations that are looking for professional development which is practical, effective, easy to translate into the work place, and above all FUN!

Marg McLeod
Marg Mcleod is currently working in the New Zealand Ministry of Education.
She moved to the Ministry of Education in January 2010 to take up the position of Change Manager for the Ministry of Education's Ultra Fast Broadband in Schools programme and was asked to act as a Group Manager from November 2010.
Marg has a deep interest in learning and in schooling improvement to achieve better outcomes for young people. She is particularly interested in ICT and how it impacts on student learning.
Marg has had considerable experience in introducing computer systems into school management and into the classroom to support teaching and learning. Whether a classroom teacher or a senior leader or school Principal, Marg focused on supporting those around her by sharing her knowledge and leading professional learning.
In 2007 Marg was made a companion of the Queen’s Service (Q.S.O.) for her work in Education with particular reference to creating environments for learning with ICT.
With such experience in successful school leadership and a variety of ICT initiatives, Marg has an excellent background for her current role in the Ministry, assisting with the implementation of broadband connectivity to schools and bringing the Network for Learning into being.
